Left-wing Movie of the Year: Mardi Gras: Made in China
I'm a little late in getting this post out for Mardi Gras - you can dock my pay. If you engaged in Mardi Gras festivities, here's a movie meant to kill your joy. Assuming the movie finds a US Distributor, Mardi Gras: Made in China could turn into the movie of the year for globalization foes. I haven't seen it, so I can only go by reviews etc., but the subject matter is interesting. The film looks at the working conditions in a Chinese factory that makes beads for Mardi Gras celebrations. The movie goes beyond the factory to look at the economic and political factors along the chain of distribution.
