The Cure for Beltway Indifference - A Million Worker March?
George W. Bush has made it clear that he doesn't intend to bail out the auto industry. (He forgets that the auto industry bailed him out after 9/11.) How about sending a million auto (and supplier) workers for a march on Washington? Good idea, except it's been tried before, and it didn't work.
There was a call for a million worker march scheduled for October 17, 2004. According to www.millionworkermarch.org, it only came up about 990,000 workers short. Doh!
