Black Tuesday Strikes - GM Lays off Hundreds of White Collar Workers
As part of a previously announced program to lay off 7% of its salaried workforce, GM gave the pink slip to hundreds of salaried workers including engineers and technical workers. Workers are to get severance of one month's pay for every year of service up to 15 months. Actually, for a company in GM's shape, that's not such a bad deal.
