The Googleteer: 'Lift and Shift'

The Googleteer may be a superhero, but he can only do so much, so when the call came to solve the evils of globalization, the Googleteer mumbled something about picking up drycleaning and took off. Before he went, he gave me this search:

I'll try to keep an eye on this one. What's "lift and shift". That's the process of moving a complete existing facility to a lower cost country. Most recently the news involved the movement of a Brazilian engine plant to China, but we could still be at the tip-of-the-iceberg stage.

Hypothetical: What would happen if General Motors really did go bankrupt and assets were sold? I think we'd see lift and shift on a massive scale.
