Buick LeSabre - the best car deal?

I can recall going to the last auto show, where all the hot new cars were on display. The car that surprised me most was the "ancient" Buick LeSabre. This is a big car that will truly seat six adults. It is luxurious, with a high quality fit and finish. It has a powerful 205 horsepower engine in the base model, and it is priced similarly to midsized cars with similar equipment. It also has similar fuel economy at 20/29 MPG. You can add to this excellent reliability, with defect rates that match the top import brands.

I am writing this because now GM is offering a $5000 rebate on the LeSabre.

I priced on edunds.com a LeSabre with lots of options including heated leather seats, upgraded wheels/tires and XM radio. The MSRP was $31,220. Edmunds' TMV price was $23,919. With our GM Friends & Family discount, we should be able to do better than that.
